BIP HiveCheck Results for Sept 16th – Sept 30th

366 Beekeepers reported in the latest BIP HiveCheck Survey and we’re gearing up to start shaking things up a bit with new questions for winter prep. This week, it looks like the honey harvest is slowing down and I’m sure everyone is getting excited with full shelves of honey in their homes and local retailers! We’re coming up close to the finish line here in the north where we’ll be closing up shop for the winter. I’m envious of reports in Alabama of beekeepers pulling more honey from late golden rod blooms this year.

We’re looking forward to adding new questions as we enter into the fall season, if you have suggestions leave a comment on this post! What would you ask the nation’s beekeepers in October?

We’ll also be splitting the BIP HiveCheck National report into two separate reports for the northern and southern states as we get into winter to stay relevant, so keep an eye out for that!

Consider that if a question was asked the previous week and again this week, provide the percentage change between the two weeks.

It would be interesting to see losses reported as they occur. Difficult during winter, but sometimes may be apparent.
