Season’s Greetings!
As the Holiday season approaches, The Bee Informed Partnership team would like to express our sincere gratitude to all of you for the support you’ve shown throughout this year! You have helped us push through many obstacles that the global pandemic has put in front of so many nonprofits, and we can’t thank you enough.
With your support, BIP serves the U.S. beekeeping community through several programs:
The Technical Transfer Team Program offers commercial beekeepers access to a wide range of resources and reports on the health of their colonies to help them improve on their management practices to strengthen the health of their colonies they take to pollinate our national food supply. Our Honey Bee Health Field Specialists work in commercial colonies throughout the year; learning and collecting data on the front line of honey bee health research. This year, the TTT also recorded the BIP Webinar series here (beeinformed.org/education) as an added resource for all beekeepers!
The Sentinel Apiary Program provides kits for sending monthly samples in for analysis while helping small scale and backyard beekeepers develop their monitoring and record keeping skills to contribute to our research as citizen scientists! Enrollment is now open for 2021 and additional options are now available for utilizing these kits in combination with our new app!
The annual National Loss and Management Survey collects invaluable data from beekeepers across the country and make the results available for anyone to access. You can search results from our annual survey by state, treatment preferences, operation size, and more to gain a greater understanding of factors that influence successful beekeeping practices.
And last but never the least, our IT team is constantly improving how we collect and share data to make a greater impact in the beekeeping community. In 2021, keep an eye out for our new BIP Dashboard App, designed to help beekeepers better manage their colony health record keeping while also contributing critical health information to BIP’s honey bee health database.
As we bid a much anticipated farewell to 2020 and celebrate this holiday season and the spirit of giving, we hope that you will join our effort to support our nation’s honey bees and the beekeepers who care for them!!
If you are looking for a charitable cause to support this holiday season, please consider making a gift to support Bee Informed Partnership today!
Happy Holidays and we look forward to seeing you in a Happy New Year!
From our family to yours,
-The Bee Informed Partnership Team
